Contributing to bagel

First off, thank you for considering contributing to bagel! We value your time and effort.

The Legal Part (CLA)

To accept your contribution, we require you to agree to our Contributor License Agreement (CLA).

Why do we require this?

bagel is backed by a commercial company. We believe in Open Source, but we also rely on a commercial business model to fund the ongoing development and maintenance of this project.

The CLA ensures that:

  1. We can defend the project: It gives us the legal standing to enforce the license if others violate it.
  2. Sustainability: It grants us the rights to include your contributions in our commercial products, which in turn generates the revenue that supports this Open Source project.
  3. Your Rights: You retain full ownership of your code. You simply grant us permission to use it.

How to Sign

You do not need to use a third-party website.

  1. Open the file CLA_SIGNATURES.md in your Pull Request.
  2. Add a new line with your details: [GitHub Username] - [Full Name].
  3. By adding your name to this file, you legally agree to the terms listed below.
