I think it is safe to say that this mod is sort of dead. Last update 5 years ago.
Unless you want to port it to modern versions, that is

For educational purposes, say teaching a summer class for kids, there is little harm using an old Minecraft version. If one wants to generate interesting scenary programmatically, one can run the mod in an old Minecraft version and then import the resulting world into a new Minecraft version.

I stopped developing the mod at a point at which Minecraft had a lot of changes, and it would have been a lot of work to adapt the mod.
