What needs to change

Update the Claude Desktop integration guide (sources/platform/integrations/ai/claude/claude-desktop.md). Claude Desktop's connector setup has changed since the page was last substantively updated on 2026-04-28, so the documented steps may no longer match the app.

• Verify all three documented connection paths against the current app: the remote-server custom connector (https://mcp.apify.com), the connector-directory install, and registration via the .mcpb file.
• Replace or remove any steps, links, or screenshots that no longer match the current configuration flow.
• Re-check the troubleshooting section against current behavior.
• Mirror the outcome in the Claude Desktop tab of the Apify MCP server page, which carries an abbreviated copy of the same instructions.

The installation instructions served on mcp.apify.com are a separate surface and are tracked with the MCP server, not here.

Reported by the AI team: users following the current guide can hit stale setup steps, which turns a first-run integration attempt into a debugging session.
