What Problem Does This Solve?
I'm connecting to the Plex server of a family member, but it's not 100% reliable (Plex or the entire server crashing; third world load shedding electricity cuts; sometimes internet connection trouble). Wanting to binge watch a series, it's therefore advisable to download the entire series, which is what I've been doing with Plex on my laptop. None of the Plex add-ons for Kodi seem to support downloads. (The official Plex client does, but it's not available for Linux on Arm-based computers—I want to switch from kludgy connections of my laptop (an Arm-based Mac), to using an OrangePi5 media station permanently connected to my projector.) Having tried all, Composite seems to be the best, as it's a proper video provider (although I had to find this GitHub page to figure this out; the fact didn't seem documented within Kodi itself).
Moreover, downloads help with slow internet connections and poor transcoding performance of the off-site server.
