Feature Request: Vietnamese Language Support for Claude Voice
Problem
Claude currently does not support Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt) as a voice language option. Vietnam has a large and growing user base for Claude, and many Vietnamese users would greatly benefit from having voice interaction in their native language.
Motivation
- Large user base: Vietnam has a significant number of Claude users who communicate primarily in Vietnamese.
- Accessibility: Voice features should be inclusive of major world languages. Vietnamese is spoken by ~100 million people worldwide.
- User experience: Vietnamese users currently cannot use voice features effectively, limiting their ability to interact with Claude naturally.
- Market growth: Southeast Asia is a rapidly growing market for AI tools, and Vietnamese language support would strengthen Claude's position in the region.
Requested Feature
Add Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt) as a supported language in Claude's voice/speech features, including:
- Speech-to-Text (STT): Recognize and transcribe Vietnamese speech input
- Text-to-Speech (TTS): Generate natural-sounding Vietnamese voice output
- Voice conversation: Full voice conversation support in Vietnamese
Additional Context
Vietnamese is a tonal language with 6 tones, which makes accurate voice recognition particularly important for usability. Many Vietnamese users are eager to use Claude voice features but are currently unable to do so in their language.
