I've always been annoyed that Tarantula (spideraa) shoots a direct line of sight, which is interfered with by mountains, but Flail (hoveraa) fires a vertical starburst, even though hover is generally a flats/water unit and spider is used by mountains. This makes spiders very vulnerable when at the base of a small hill that obstructs los and makes it harder to assault/defend over hills. Spider's body is also very low, it has about half the launch height compared to Vandal (shieldaa)
Tarantula can be buffed by giving it's weapondef a trajectoryHeight property like Rouge's missiles. Two good test maps are Reptilian Battlefield and Archers Valley, because they both have sizeable bot hills. Reptilian works as a "maximum bot-pathable" hill and Archers Valley have less extreme bot-pathable hills. I think any amount of firing over hills should be balanced around these bot-pathable hills.
I've tested some numbers, I think it should be at least 0.4 or it's not really doing anything. When it's 0.8 hills almost stop mattering, gunships need to land to have any firing shadow from Tarantula on Reptilian Battlefield. I'd just go with 0.6, same as Rouge, and just say that works well enough.
