Creating a clean real development environment (such as brand new Debian instance) will make things easier.
This should not be done using a virtual machine since deploying VMs on VMs will make a mess :)
This issue is not a must but recommended to be considered. As an example presenting web interface through the project will be easier if the development environment has a real IPv4 address.
