Thoughts on Open Source and supporting the project

First off, thanks for this tool. It works great!

I'm a huge believer in FOSS and to support that ecosystem, which includes chipping in with donations for projects I use. I'd love to do the same here, but I stick to supporting projects that are open source.

I'm just curious what's the current status on that? I've wondered what the reasons are for keeping it closed right now. I'd really love to see this go FOSS!
