I play with 3 accounts simultaneously. Each on it's own monitor. I make a point of switching between screens often, but I noticed multiple times today that if I change zones via warp and click another screen while the zoning is still occurring the windower instances will crash. I will then have to log back in at which point I am in the new zone. This crash does not affect the other instances. Only the instance that lost focus while zoning.
On a related note, while I don't recall seeing these crash issues before the last update, I have long noticed that within the PlayOnline Viewer (before getting into the actual game) everything slows to a crawl when not in focus. If I click to another page and then change screen focus the loading goes painfully slowly and everything moves like it is in slow motion. Worse is that this happens even when updating files. It can take several hours longer to update if the window is not in continuous focus which limits what I can do with my computer during the update.
When trying to write this I opened the task manager so that I could report what my system usage was, but the moment it came up all 3 instances crashed simultaneously. So, opening the task manager causes every open instance of windower to crash as well? However, the task manager itself being open didn't cause any problems, so I pressed control alt del again as a test while the playonline viewer was open (after signing in) and while it didn't crash I got an error immediately:
"The selected contents could not be displayed properly. Returning to main menu."
But once in game this action results in all instances just fully closing instead. This happens even if there is only a single instance of the game running at the time of the crash or error.
A particularly annoying problem overall, especially considering that when logging back in TP resets and I have to re setup parties and/or Trusts. Also particularly dangerous if it happens in a fight.
System:
Windows 10 64-bit (Ameliorated)
CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K 3.60 Hz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
RAM: 64 GB
Internet: 100+ Mbps running through ProtonVPN.
While all 3 games are running (and will all the other process running in the background such as browsers, images, videos, tools, and so on) my CPU is only at around 15% to 21% running at 4.09 to 4.18 Ghz (running faster than 3.6 Ghz since it's boosted by being cooler) and the memory usage is sitting around 33.8 GB or 53%. GPU usage is hovering at at 49 to 55% at 29 degrees C. Total network usage only running at 10 to 50 KB/s down and 60 KM/s UP which is much less than I thought it would be. Nothing is particularly strained from what I can see so that should help rule out hardware causes.
Currently on the stable branch.
Plugins currently on (for each of the 3 characters) : Sandbox, SSOrganizer, Timers, WeatherMon, WinControl. No other Plugins currently in use.
Not sure if it helps to know, but none of the characters were in or zoning into the same zone as one another when each crash occurred. Rather than triple boxing it's more accurate to say that I play 3 separate games at once.
