1 Introduction
This document describes a file format that describes detection of file formats, e.g. by filename extension.
.ti 0
1.1 Terminology
The key words "MUST", "MUST NOT", "REQUIRED", "SHALL", "SHALL NOT", "SHOULD", "SHOULD NOT", "RECOMMENDED", "NOT RECOMMENDED", "MAY", and "OPTIONAL" in this document are to be interpreted as described in BCP\014 [RFC2119] [RFC8174] when, and only when, they appear in all capitals, as shown here.

1.1.3.* -- Reserved for ISO/IEC 9834-3

3 Ideas for Future Developments ("Format 3.0")
- JSON Format
- Better notation for ranges, with multiple components.
- Differentiate between "illegal" (must not exist) and "must-not-create" (may exist, but must not create).
- Machine-readable description instead of a comment.
- Include/Exclude lines. You start from top to bottom and include/exclude stuff, and at the end you have an answer if the OID is illegal.
- For frozen OIDs, we must allow that a single arc is frozen (non-existing OIDs are illegal), but the existing OIDs may create children.
