The coloured roles in the server are in the possession of the following groups of people.

| root | Server owners and staff leads. | |
| Admins | Server administrators. Senior staff members who do managerial duties in addition to possessing a senior role in moderation. | |
| Moderators | Server moderators. Responsible for keeping the server safe and sound. | |
| Staff Emeritus | Former members of the staff team. | |
| Veterans | Senior members of the community who possess a proven level of technical proficiency and have an exceptional history in productive community participation. | |
| Den Dwellers | Active and exemplary members of the community. | |
| Nitro Booster | Members of the community who have given one or more Nitro Boosts to the server. | |
| SuperBots | Bots with elevated privileges, i.e. moderation bots and the like. | |
| Bots | Everyday, run-of-the-mill bots. |
These roles are called interest roles. They are purely cosmetic, and allow you to show your interest or skill in a certain topic. We may also ping these roles in relevant posts in #news-feed or #statuses.
You can acquire one or more interest roles at a time with the help of @Zeppelin.
To get one or more interest roles added to your profile, please use the following command in #bot-usage: !!role <role1> <role2> <role3>...
Example: !!role cpp java python
To remove an interest role that you currently have, simply add remove between the command and the role names: !!role remove <role1> <role2> <role3>...

Channels and roles for different languages and frameworks will be added as needed. If there is a significant number of members requesting a specific language/framework to be featured on the server, it may be added. If a channel is added, appropriate roles will typically be added alongside it.
Suggestions for channels may be submitted via the #meta channel.
