I encountered an issue where the Batch Convert tool fails to recognize the format of .ass files (showing as "Unknown") and returns an "Error; Error" status when attempting to convert/offset them. This might be related to long file paths or specific characters in the folder names.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Subtitle Edit v5.0.0-beta13.
- Open the Batch Convert window (Tools > Batch convert).
- Add multiple .ass files to the list.
- Note that the "Format" column displays "Unknown" instead of "Advanced Substation Alpha".
- Select "Offset time codes" and set a value.
- Click "Convert".
Actual Result
The "Status" column shows "Error; Error" and no files are processed.**
