Hi @kpatzwald! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the Stirling-PDF team. At the moment, only the freehand annotation and the new "Add Text" tool are available in Stirling-PDF. Tools like highlight and comment are not yet implemented or available in the Docker image or codebase (source). If you don't see the "Add Text" tool, make sure you're using the unified Docker image with both the frontend and backend—missing features can happen if only the backend is running (source). Highlight and comment features may be added in the future, so it's worth keeping an eye on release notes and updates. To reply, just mention @dosu. How did I do? Thanks for the clarification. The tools are mentioned in the documentation. This is very confusing. https://docs.stirlingpdf.com/Functionality/Read-and-Annotate |

EmbedPDF has a better implementation of selecting text, highlighting and adding comments / annotations to text compared to StirlingPDF. I would recommend people to use it directly at app.embedpdf.com or self host the embedpdf editor. |

Hi,
maybe I'm blind: Where are the annotation tools? I only have the free hand annotation, no highlight, no comment and so on.
I use the latest docker-image.
Best regards and thanks for any hints
Kay
