iOS 7 compatibility

Hey Brennan,
thank you for the great video / project. Your code basically still works on iOS 7, however, its not working perfectly. For example, the automatic scroll view insets introduced by iOS 7 to prevent content sliding below Status Bar / Navigation Bar seem to be overridden.

I've been struggling with getting UIScrollView, Autolayout and Keyboard Handling to work cleanly together. TPKeyboardAvoidingScrollView is also still quite buggy in iOS 7, your implementation is the closest to working I've found so far.

How are you doing this in iOS 7 / Xcode 5? A few words or even an updated project or video would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I've updated the project and now I am using a different technique which I think is actually simpler. Instead of resetting the height of the scroll view to fit within the space left when the keyboard is shown I set the bottom inset so that the content can scroll above the keyboard.

I also changed up the layout constraints now that it is easier to manage them in Xcode 5. If I have time I will make another video, but not so long.

Thank you so much, Brennan! I'm testing your approach and the keyboard handling / scrolling works really well.

I just have one last caveat that I still struggle to fix for a 100 % solution - and I cant figure out how you got it to work:

• My ScrollView has a contentView. All the constraints are set up as in your project.
• The UI Elements of the contentView are a few textfields and buttons (typical form UI-layout)
• The max Y-value of the UI Elements in the contentView is smaller than the device screen height (3.5 ") (so the scrollview only needs to scroll when when the keyboard shows)
• The layout is unambigous, no problems (I know quite a bit about Autolayout / Xcode 5, I deem myself rather advanced in this topic)

The problem:
Even though the bottom constraint between contentView and scrollView = 0, when running the app there is big gap between contentView and scrollView. Obviously the contentView is only as big as it needs to be according to the maxY of its UI Elements. To my understanding the 0 bottom constraint should stretch it so it fills out the entire scrollView as it does in your project, but it doesn't.
I've experimented with the good old VC -> Freeform -> Decrease root view height trick as you did in the sample project, but it doesn't help, when stretched in the simulator/device, the contentView simply does not resize.

I understand that this is more of an Autolayout issue than having anything to do with your custom classes, but nevertheless it fits the issue and is a very common UI-task in combination with textfields and scrollviews.

I've found that I can actually place a view inside of a scroll view and connect it to each side of the scroll view, which is technically attached to the bounds in a scroll view. It is what sets the content size and controls scrolling as you likely know. One important detail I did not know until recently is that if I have a scroll view which is 500 points high I can place a view in the scroll view which is 400 points high, set the height constraint to 400, attach it to the top with a zero value for the constant as well as the bottom with a zero value even through there is a 100 point gap. Apparently this is allowed as an exception because the bounds of the scroll view are not tied to the frame of the scroll view. This way I no longer need to use a freeform scene in a storyboard to manage views which do not fit the default dimensions.
