App based onboarding (Not an issue)

I’m considering developing a mobile app–based onboarding solution, particularly for users who lack access to a laptop or Wi-Fi-enabled PC. Enabling onboarding via smartphones could provide a simpler and more accessible user experience. However, I’m still unsure whether this would be beneficial or not. Any thoughts? @Lash-L

I had thought about this as well. definitely useful, but I think the better/easier approach is to overload the app's onboarding flow. I have not taken a stab at it, but I believe it to be possible.

If the user connects to the mitm server before they do onboarding, i think it would be possible. It could even be possible without hte mitm being active if it stores previous responses in storage somewhere.

Yeah, that might be a simpler way to handle onboarding than building a separate mechanism. I’ll take a crack at it and see if I can get something working, if that’s okay with you ;)

Yes definitely! I took a quick look at it and it is definitely doable. I honestly should have started with this to begin with...

If the user is logged into the server already, then their app with hit our nc/prepare endpoint. We can then give back the same 'r' we give during the vacuum onboarding.

Only quirk is that the endpoint is slightly different than the vacuum call to nc/prepare, so we need to handle both and respond properly.

If you don't end up getting around to it, I definitely will, it makes sense long term.
