Trying to start contribution on fresh fork

I am trying to follow the contribution steps from https://docs.prefect.io/contribute/dev-contribute, however uv sync on a freshly synced main branch fails with the below

Unsure how the integrations are aimed to play together when developing prefect locally, any advice is very much welcome.

hey! i think this happens when uv.lock is missing or incompatible with your uv version - uv tries to resolve fresh and fails because prefect[aws] etc. pull integration packages from PyPI that depend back on prefect, which conflicts with your local project.

with a valid lockfile, uv sync should work fine.

can you check:

1. does uv.lock exist in your repo root?
2. what does uv --version show?
3. is your fork synced with upstream? (the lockfile format has changed recently)

if your fork is behind, syncing with upstream to get the latest uv.lock should fix it.

indeed, something wonky with my uv lock. Recreated everything and worked out of the box.
