Ah, thanks for the pointer. I would like to avoid public comments on the blog as that introduces a maintenance/moderation burden I would prefer us not to take on. I could see us posting to Mastodon automatically upon publish and then people can discuss there. This puts the onus for moderation on the various mastodon instances where people participate and we can decide how and if to engage with the replies.

Fair point. I guess we could put a link at the end of the article that redirect people to the mastodon post as an alternative.
