Dear Repository Maintainers,
I am writing to request the release of the latest and corresponding kernel sources for the Xiaomi 11T with the codenames agate and amber.
This device was released in October 2021 running a modified Linux kernel, and after over 4.5 years the sources are still absent, which is a direct violation of GPLv2 license paragraph 3 under which the Linux kernel is distributed.
For the past two months I have tried reaching out to obtain the kernel sources through both requests in the Issues section of this repository and Xiaomi Global Customer Support's email, but with no luck.
The availability of the kernel sources would facilitate the development of AOSP-based custom ROMs and demonstrate that Xiaomi complies with the GPLv2 license.
As a result of this request, I would like either:
- To receive the latest and corresponding kernel sources for the Xiaomi 11T, branch
agate-u-oss, or any other equivalent if that is not possible; or
- To receive an official statement regarding the status or ETA of the release.
If I do not receive an answer, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter to the SFC (Software Freedom Conservancy) and the FSF (Free Software Foundation) regarding the apparent GPLv2 violation.
Sincerely,
The Xiaomi 11T user and ROM developer.
