Unsupported ArbOS version error on local launch

I try running a nitro-testnode by following the steps outlined in readme, however, a local sequencer docker container immediately fails after launching. The error is:

failed to open the ArbOS state           error="the chain is upgrading to unsupported ArbOS version 32, please upgrade to the latest version of the node software"

note: that fails when running in --dev mode
