The use case is to replace a Greek nu character with math markup \nu
The replacement string unexpectedly becomes a new line followed by the letter u, regardless if the regex box is checked or not. This seems ok if you really want newlines in your replacement string. But there ought to be a way for the replacement to have a literal backslash n.
From the help page:
"To replace matched text with a new line, \n may be used in the replace field."
But it doesn't say how to replace with an actual \n instead of a new line, which is what is needed in this case.
