[BUG] WinGet doesn't work/get detected at all

Describe your issue

After updating to the latest version of UniGetUI, WinGet stopped working completely. I've tried resting WinGet, using portable build of WinGet, forcing Pinget and checking aliases in the Windows settings app and nothing worked.

Relevant information

Previously UniGetUI also had some problems with WinGet, but then it would fallback to it's own build and everything worked fine.

Hi all,
have quite the same issue.
In the former installation only the built in Winget worked. With 2026.1.9 in Windows 11 Pro 25H2 I did not get any Installed Programms, any updates from Winget within unigetui. Even Scoop and Chocolatey are not working anymore although they were installed and worked on the previos version.
I started unigetui as Admin.
When I oen owerShell as Admin I do get good responses for winget list and winget update.
I already reinstalled unigetui for several times, cleaned the registry, resetted and reinstalled winget, but nothings helps.

As long as someting named winget.exe is in PATH it is detected. But wont work as expected.

When I add portable WinGet to the PATH, then it still doesn't work, since UniGetUI sends empty requests when checking updates or searching packages.

I can confirm this issue. The bug is present on my 25H2 26200.8390 with UniGetUI 2026.1.9.
However it is not currently present on my 25H2 26200.8246 with UniGetUI 2026.1.9.

Repairing doesn't help.

Thanks for the detailed report and logs.

We’ve made a few improvements to WinGet initialization/fallback behavior in 2026.1.10. Could you please update to that version and check whether WinGet starts working again?

If the issue still happens on 2026.1.10, please share the updated UniGetUI log so we can review the new WinGet initialization output.

It's still sending empty requests for some reason.
(I've added "Microsoft.DesktopAppInstaller_1.28.240.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe" directly to the PATH to make sure everything gets detected properly)
