Description
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
A clear and concise description of what the problem or use case is. For example, I'm always frustrated when [...]
Users frequently submit their items to the wrong collections. When this happens and the item is submitted to a collection with an editor/reviewer workflow, the item does not show up in the workflow of the correct reviewers and editors. Reviewers and editors then often have no idea this item has been submitted, and the users send in complaints because their item has not entered the repository in a timely manner. The reviewers and editors either then have to send the item back to a user who is already frustrated that their material hasn't been processed yet, and have the user send it to the correct collection, or the reviewers and editors have to just redo the entire submission themselves. If we could change the collection to which an item has been submitted in 'Administer Workflow'--or even just see which collection to which the item has been submitted, so we know in whose workflow the item is probably appearing--it would eliminate a lot of investigative work and back and forth with the user.
Describe the solution you'd like
A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.
The best solution: Show the collection to which the item has been submitted in the 'Administer Workflow' list AND add a button that takes the Administrator to the completed submission form, which will allow the Admin to change the collection. If the new collection to which the material is being submitted has different metadata fields, preserve the data in metadata fields that are the same across both forms.
A less than perfect solution that would still improve our lives: Display in 'Administer Workflow' the collection to which each material has been submitted, so administrators have a better idea to which collection an item has been sent. This will avoid guesswork and checking with every reviewer/editor affiliated with the repository to try to determine who has the material in their workflow.
Describe alternatives or workarounds you've considered
A clear and concise description of any alternative solutions or features you've considered.
Our current workaround is to deal with issues of materials being submitted to the wrong collections reactively and by communicating with end users: either the student will contact us in a panic to tell us they submitted the material and it hasn't been processed yet, and we have to check in with all the reviewers and editors to guess who has the item in their workflow OR simply send the material back to the student OR create a new a submission to submit the material for them. Regardless, it's less than ideal and we would really love any changes that would make this simpler!
