Substituting an svg file in PEmbroider_svg_image.pde produces noisy square

When I substitute my own simple svg file for the duck.svg, I get nothing like the input shape. I'm perplexed as to how to proceed.

Hi @dezell22, thank you so much for your question, and sorry for our slow reply.
There were two problems going on here:

The first problem is that, for a simple and easy-to-fix reason, this PEmbroider example no longer works correctly when used in Processing 4.4 instead of Processing 4.3. The "Duck" example (PEmbroider_svg_image.pde) renders like so with Processing 4.3:

However, it renders like so in Processing 4.4:

What changed? Well, in late April, Processing "changed the default display density". This is clearly causing an unacceptable new problem for PEmbroider, and thank you for bringing this to our attention. For the time being, I recommend either:

• add the command pixelDensity(1); in your setup() function, OR
• roll back to Processing 4.3, which you can obtain here: https://github.com/processing/processing4/releases.

The second problem is that your SVG design is HUUUUGE -- it's way too large, and it exceeds the dimensions of the allocated canvas. (It's also bigger than the hoops on most consumer embroidery machines.) Note that dimensions in SVG documents are "real". You can see what I mean if you open your SVG in Illustrator or Inkscape. I shrank your design in Illustrator down to 1.5 inches wide, and then loaded it into the Duck example in Processing 4.3; this is what I got:
