Portion of Food as a subclass of Processed Material.

I think this certain class would do well as some more general material entity class. I suppose one could envision eating some fruit which is not a cultivated product. This would be devoid of some process that is the output of some human input.

Thoughts on moving this class over or any push back on my issues?

Food should be defined in terms of role. As you point out, some foods might be processed and others not, so the fundamental isn't there.
