Hi everybody! we've finally released our patch update! Now idk if any of you has realized who's writing these descriptions but i'd like to let you guys guess 😁.
Ignore the update- files as they're for the engine's autoupdater. Gamebanana release is coming soon too but for now here's the changelog:

• NEW AUTOUPDATER!! will automatically update the executable and assets folder to the latest version
• NEW SONG VARIATION SYSTEM!! you can now split songs between variations
• New camGameZoomMult and camHUDZoomMult variables for changing cam zooming
• Added a linux path fix for compatibility (You don't need to adjust your mod anymore) (also applies to macOS)
• Freeplay now changes song preview when song variations are involved
• onSongEnd is now cancellable
• Fixed unstacked events in the charter
• Fixed no mod config warning when enabling WarningState.hx
• Fixed icons being inconsistently sized between menus
• Fixed options xml crash
• Fixed crashes regarding missing vocals

Are you at least able to compile it on your own? This might be a Haxe issue, not a Codename one. I use glibc, but I would expect alternatives to work.

im not able to compile it on my own, I have a thing to make it work for musl things but it just really is annoying to use (and it takes up like 2gb of space), if you wondering, I literally use glibc (like not the compat or anything) with a load of libraries to make it work

Has Haxe compiled any kind of project for you in the past without workarounds? I know that there are a lot of forks that Codename uses for optimization reasons, including C projects, like with SDL, that are necessary for Codename to function properly. You should be sure that you are able to compile those.

As an additional option, you could theoretically try Distrobox. This part might be partially biast, but I have recently distrohopped over to NixOS, and Distrobox is very useful over there due to how it handles containers (and easily). I don't know about how it interacts with the system C library, but theoretically I would expect it to use the system C library of the container. It's minimal, too.
