Filament information

I want to get the information how much filament was used at the end of the print.
How can I realize that ?

Should be the tray weight value in the ams data model. This is only an estimate from my understanding and only works for bambu tagged spools; I believe the value goes in 200g increments but this needs verification.

Currently only pre 1.07 p1 firmware has been verified.

Is it possible to get the information from the gcode ?

Depends on the slicer, I believe that Orcaslicer/Bambuslicer provides the info in the 3mf output in the Metadata/slice_info.config file. You may need to modify the gcode output in your slicer to contain this info.

At the end of each print there is information about the printing time and the filament used.
For example, I printed a small dinosaur that took 20 minutes and used 2 g of filament.
I printed with a Prusa filament on the A1 mini.
I couldn't find anything on how to get the 2g filament.
I have not tested with an AMS, but normally I should get the information if the printer displays the information at the end.
How can I get this information?

This is likely just metadata extracted from the gcode file. Can you check if printing a gcode file produces the summary.

with for example (printer.gcode_file()) I only get the name of the file, but no information.

The information is stored in the gcode as "total filament weight [g] :" in line 7.

But i don't have a clue, how I can access this.

yes, can confirm this. on orcaslicer / bambustudio it´s attached at the bottom of the gcode file:

; filament used [mm] = 2267.67
; filament used [cm3] = 5.45
; filament used [g] = 6.87
; filament cost = 0.17

i´m also interested on this topic, since i want to gather metadata to feed an api for tracking filament usage. any updates on that?

personally there are two options that i can think of as future solution (at least, if you would like to use this for some sort of automation like i do):

1. modify the ftp functions of the printer
   it´s possible to connect to the printer via ftp. the printer caches the gcode / 3mf in the directory /cache.
   these files do not have (at least in my case) the correct timestamp, but at least they seem to have the correct filenames.
   so... in theory you could use a script which checks, if there is a new / unknown file in the directory, then copy it and parse it to gain the data (i will try this).
   if this works, it is probably possible to include this as function in this repo.

2. somehow configure your slicer to auto export and parse the gcode
   orcaslicer offers post-processing script options, but i don´t know if this kind of task is possible with that
