"content": "
After months of community feedback and rigorous testing across four Beta releases, we're proud to announce the Stable release of AxionOS 2.1 — built on Android 16. This version represents the most polished, balanced, and powerful AxionOS experience yet, combining new designs, stability, and OEM-inspired features that strike the perfect balance between creativity and familiarity.
\n\n
Two Sides of the Coin
\n\n
The entire UI has undergone a thoughtful visual refresh, blending Axion's unique identity with a NothingOS-inspired design language. Instead of copying, we've taken the \"what if\" approach — reimagining how both Material You and blur-based themes can coexist in harmony. Whether you prefer vibrant colors or minimalist blur effects, you can have both.
\n\n
\n
Reworked Quick Settings and improved brightness slider visibility controls
\n
Updated Settings dashboard
\n
Smart Internet tile and redesigned widgets inspired by NothingOS
\n
\n\n
\n \n \n
\n\n
Your Home, Refined for You
\n\n
Whether you prioritize aesthetics or efficiency, AxionOS 2.1 brings thoughtful launcher enhancements designed to adapt to your preferences and workflow.
\n\n
\n
QuickLook Widget: At-a-glance information for weather, calendar, and music
\n
Nothing Widgets: Ports of nothingOS widgets to improve accessibility or aesthetics
\n
Dynamic Themed Icons: Seamlessly adapt to your wallpaper and theme for a cohesive look
\n
Refreshed Visuals: Subtle yet meaningful UI refinements across the launcher and recents view
\n
\n\n
\n \n \n
\n\n
In omnia paratus! — Ready for Anything
\n\n
AxionOS 2.1 builds upon the newly rewritten boost framework introduced in AxionOS 1.0, now optimized for even faster response times and smoother animations across the entire system. Memory usage has been further reduced, resulting in snappier and more efficient multitasking.
\n\n
New Components in the Boost Framework
\n\n
\n
Performance Toolkit: A user-configurable performance management suite
\n
Enhanced Low Memory Killer Daemon: Optimized using OEM-level improvements
\n
Advanced Thermal Mitigation: Automatically terminates unnecessary processes to reduce CPU load and temperature
\n
Memory Manager: Dynamically optimizes memory allocation based on usage patterns
\n
ODEX Optimizations: Improves app performance using AOT speed-profile compilation
\n
Dex Prefetcher: A rewritten, QCOM-inspired engine that accelerates app launch and loading times
\n
ScrollOptimizer: Derived and reengineered from QCOM's implementation to eliminate scroll jitters while maintaining low CPU usage
\n
Service Delay: An optimization that delays non-critical or non-user requested services
\n
\n\n
Game On!
\n\n
The redesigned Game Panel delivers faster access to key features while gaming — no need to switch apps or pull down Quick Settings mid-match.
\n\n
\n
New Game Panel tiles for quick access
\n
In-game brightness slider for instant visibility control
\n
Real-time FPS meter
\n
\n\n
!New Game Mode Panel
\n\n
Do More, Effortlessly
\n\n
The reworked Freeform mode takes multitasking on AOSP to a whole new level.
\n\n
\n
Floating icons for minimized freeform tasks
\n
Fully redesigned AOSP freeform UI
\n
\n\n
!Freeform
\n\n
Feature Highlights
\n\n
NothingOS Experience
\n\n
\n
NothingOS-style lockscreen clocks and Always-On Display
\n
Three-finger swipe gesture with improved screenshot interception
\n
Network Speed Indicator and App Locker
\n
Partial screenshot support
\n
\n\n
Other AxionOS Exclusives
\n\n
\n
QuickLook: At-a-glance weather, calendar, and music controls right from your lockscreen
\n
Sidebar Reimagined: Rewritten from the ground up for faster access and minimal resource use
\n
Edge Light & Pulse Visualizer: Cleaner, smoother lighting effects with improved AOD integration
\n
HBM (High Brightness Mode) service: Open-source and battery friendly
\n
HDR boost toggle: Option to disable HDR flashbangs when watching videos
\n
HDR intensity: Option to change HDR brightness intensity
\n
Torch intensity: Option to change Torch brightness intensity
\n
Volume QS Tile: Option to change volume levels via QS tile
\n
Lockscreen QS disable: Option to disable swiping QS on lockscreen
\n
Lockscreen Media Art: Option to display media art on lockscreen
\n
Mistouch Prevention: Option to add mistouch protection in lockscreen
\n
\n\n
Google's Patch Cadence & The State of AOSP
\n\n
The ACSP — Android Closed Source Project
\n\n
Over the past few months, Google has not released major source code updates addressing critical QPR0 issues — and QPR1 remains unavailable. This slowdown in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) has made it increasingly challenging for custom ROM developers to maintain stability and compatibility.
\n\n
Without direct access to Google's proprietary tools and resources, many QPR0-related issues required extensive manual fixes and reverse engineering. These \"band-aid\" solutions extended our beta period, as we prioritized delivering a daily-driver-ready experience over rushing stability.
\n\n
AxionOS Contributions and Fixes
\n\n
Despite these limitations, we implemented several critical fixes and optimizations to make QPR0 near stable and usable for everyday users.
\n\n
#### AOSP fixes
\n\n
\n
Resolved VPN connection issues
\n
Fixed cloned profile bugs
\n
Restored scheduled dark mode functionality
\n
Patched SystemUI memory leaks
\n
Fixed Quick Settings visual glitches (e.g., tiles showing without background)
\n
Resolved keyguard element disappearance issues
\n
Fixed secondary click actions on the Internet tile
\n
Eliminated unlock flickering
\n
Fixed animation lag on selected MediaTek devices
\n
Fixed split-shade disappearance issues
\n
Fixed systemui crashes after applying icon packs
\n
Fixed task profiles application
\n
\n\n
#### Custom Rom Feature fixes
\n\n
\n
Fixed clock customizations memory leak
\n
Reduced system font overrides resources usage
\n
Fixed minor ui inconsistencies with volume row icons
\n
Biometrics option fixes
\n
Fixed mediametadata crashes
\n
Fixed HWUI renderer switcher feature implementation
\n
Fixed ignore window secure feature
\n
\n\n
TL;DR: AxionOS continues to push AOSP forward, ensuring a stable and refined Android experience even amidst limited upstream updates.
\n\n
Looking Ahead
\n\n
AxionOS 2.1 Stable marks a major milestone — but it's only the beginning. With a stronger foundation, we're looking forward for better quality releases as time goes by.
\n\n
We'd like to thank all our testers, contributors, and community members who helped shape AxionOS 2.1 through each beta phase. Your feedback and participation have been invaluable in creating a release that embodies the AxionOS vision of performance and elegance.
\n\n— The AxionOS Team"

Regardless, we bring another update to the table with a fresh set of fixes and improvements that enhance your experience over the last release.
\n\n
Clearing the Misunderstanding: The Beauty of Pastels Over Glass and Blurs
\n\n
We’re not copying NothingOS—we’re drawing inspiration from it, adopting certain elements of their design language while we develop our own unique identity. Since AxionOS doesn’t yet have a dedicated UI team, I need to establish a recognizable aesthetic while completing the core framework.
\n\n
To be clear, NothingOS and HelloUI are the only OEM skins that don’t fully follow the iOS route, which is why they serve as references. HelloUI, in particular, still carries some iOS influence. Fun fact: the Rookery font we’re using was originally from Motorola.
\n\n
What's the Spice?
\n\n
Clocks
\n\n
\n
With NothingOS having a stale 4.0 update, we decided to make some adjustments. Unlike real NothingOS clocks, all of our clocks now support QuickLook
\n
\n\n
Partial Theme Engine Implementation: Font Manager
\n\n
\n
Users can now import their favorite fonts and use them as long as they're accepted by the Android system
\n
\n\n
Power Button Short Press
\n\n
\n
Inspired by HyperOS and initiated by Saikrishna1504 — added for accessibility
\n
\n\n
Services Are More Persistent and Stable
\n\n
\n
Reports like Edge Bar and Axion Widgets stopping are now resolved. However, due to Google not releasing QPR1 (the stable version Pixel users know), everything here is not polished because it's WIP and in the first stage of firmware development release.
\n\n
LineageOS has already fixed many of these issues, but unfortunately, not all can be fixed even with the utmost diligence. In response to this, we have added links to the bug fixes as proof.
\n\n
Fixed 69 Bugs, Added 178 Bugs
\n\n
Kidding aside, we fixed critical issues and improved major custom ROM features that users actually need.
\n\n
Improved Spoofing
\n\n
Some apps that implement RootBeerNative (like banks) are invasively checking every property, mount point, and partition you have. With the help of PIF and system core patches, we managed to skip some checks that caused apps to crash and Play Integrity to fail. This includes fixing a legacy spoofing patch that wasn't working before:
\n\n
\n
System core spoofing fix #1
\n
System core spoofing fix #2
\n
\n\n
Critical Bug Fixes
\n\n
\n
Fixed legacy device random reboots and cgroup failures — View commit
\n
Fixed biometrics freezing and lockscreen disappearance issue once and for all — View commit
\n
Fixed full screen feature — Say goodbye to those black bars! View commit
\n
Fixed bugged QuickSettings on keyguard — View commit
\n
Fixed inconsistent fingerprint icon — View commit
\n
Attempted fix for app icon corruption that leads to system not responding — View commit
\n
\n\n
Why Is Development and Fixes So Slow?
\n\n
I’m the sole developer behind AxionOS (rmp22). Fortunately, our moderators and maintainers help by contributing missing custom ROM patches (credits to all contributors!) and keeping the community running smoothly.
\n\n
Most of the time, though, I’m juggling bug fixes and working through the roadmap. Progress can feel slow, but I’m doing my best to stay on schedule and deliver stable, meaningful updates.
\n\n
Dear Google, Stop Killing What People Loved About You
\n\n
You were loved for being open source and accessible, yet here we are — disappointments from custom ROMs, to sideloading, to Pixels. It's not too late, Google.
\n\n— The AxionOS Team"

"content": "
After months of waiting, Google finally released the QPR1 sources and with that, AxionOS moves into a new chapter.
\n\n
This release isn’t about claiming superiority or drawing lines between projects.\nIt’s about reflecting on where we are, listening to feedback we’ve heard from users over time, and deciding how AxionOS can grow in its own way.
\n\n
AxionOS 2.3 represents a step toward clarity, refinement, and a more intentional experience.
\n\n
Breaking the stereotypes
\n\n
Over the years, we’ve seen a growing sentiment from parts of the Android community. Especially from users who’ve stepped away from custom ROMs or grown tired of hopping between them.
\n\n
Some feel that:\n
\n
Many ROMs offer similar feature sets
\n
Differences can feel subtle rather than meaningful
\n
OEM software has improved enough that switching no longer feels necessary
\n

\n\n
These aren’t criticisms of any project or team. Maintaining a custom ROM is hard work, often done by small groups in their free time. We deeply respect every maintainer and contributor keeping this ecosystem alive.
\n\n
But hearing these perspectives made me stop and ask myself:
\n\n
> What can AxionOS do differently?
\n\n
Rather than chasing feature parity or trends, 2.3 focuses on intent: refining the experience, strengthening our identity, and making design and functionality feel cohesive.
\n\n
Does the Glass Reflect You?
\n\n
It’s no secret that Android UI discussions often circle back to iOS-inspired design.
\n\n
Some users enjoy it. Others feel it overshadows what made Android special in the first place.
\n\n
For AxionOS, our goal isn’t to reject any design language outright, nor to follow one blindly. Instead, we want to explore Android’s strengths:\n
\n
Personal expression through color
\n
Flexibility without overwhelming complexity
\n
A UI that adapts to the user, not the other way around
\n

\n\n
AxionOS’s visual direction is still evolving, and 2.3 is an important step in shaping that identity.
\n\n
\n \n \n
\n\n
The Axion Starts Here
\n\n
Back in 2.2, we shared a small tease: “Something’s coming.”\nWith 2.3, that vision begins to take form.
\n\n
Deal: we get less themes to maintain. You get more themes
\n\n
The new Theme Engine is a modular theming solution insipired from substratum.
\n\n
Key ideas behind it:\n
\n
Modular customization rather than all-or-nothing themes
\n
Clean system-wide integration
\n
Support for repackaged icon themes (power users can simply repack or use 3rd party themes)
\n

\n\n
This is the foundation we’ll continue building on, guided by feedback from users and contributors alike.
\n\n
\n \n \n
\n\n
Making Daily Use Easier
\n\n
No more cat and mouse with big G
\n\n
Dealing with Play Integrity and app compatibility has been frustrating for many users across the Android modding space.
\n\n
To reduce the hassle of rooting to simply pass integrity, AxionOS 2.3 integrates Tricky Store and Play Integrity Fix (PIF) directly into the system.
\n\n
The goal of the this change was to:\n
\n
reduce manual steps
\n
make GUI access easier for users
\n

\n\n
What’s New in 2.3
\n\n
Pulse Launcher — Refined
\n\n
The launcher is often the first thing users interact with, so we focused on polish and usability:\n
\n
Icon and folder customization
\n
Multiple search provider options
\n
Universal search for apps, contacts, and settings
\n

\n\n
\n \n \n
\n\n
Aesthetics With Security in Mind
\n\n
Media artwork now appears on Doze and Always-On Display, offering a more cohesive experience while listening to music.
\n\n
A new Fading Blocks visualizer style was also added, along with a fix for the Pulse visualizer not working when using Bluetooth devices.
\n\n
\n \n \n
\n\n
App Spoofing Enhancements
\n\n
App spoofing is now:\n
\n
Fully configurable per game
\n
Easier to manage with presets
\n
Open to advanced customization for users who want more control
\n

\n\n
\n \n \n
\n\n
Sandbox: More Control Over App Privacy
\n\n
Sandbox introduces a different approach to app-level privacy:\n
\n
Separate lock for selected apps
\n
Hidden apps accessible within Sandbox
\n
Optional isolation mode per app
\n
Ability to hide Developer Options from specific apps
\n

\n\n
\n \n \n
\n\n
AxBurstEngine Returns
\n\n
AxBurstEngine makes a return with improvements to scheduling and UI smoothness, aiming for a more responsive and consistent experience.
\n\n
By preventing certain processes from being scheduled on high-energy cores, \nwe aim to allocate resources more efficiently and reduce power consumption, \nin hopes of improving the overall user experience.
\n\n
About Stability
\n\n
AxionOS 2.3 is just an initial release. Some features from the previous version are still missing and will be added after some releases.
\n\n
QPR1 is still relatively new, and while we’ve tested extensively, real-world usage always reveals areas to improve. If you encounter issues:\n
\n
Please report them with logs
\n
Be patient with responses
\n
Know that your feedback directly helps shape future releases
\n

\n\n
Why AxionOS Exists
\n\n
Custom ROMs mean different things to different people.
\n\n
For some, they’re about control.\nFor others, learning, experimentation, or simply keeping older devices alive.
\n\n
AxionOS exists to contribute positively to that space, offering an option for users who want a refined, thoughtful experience while remaining open, collaborative, and community-driven.
\n\n
Thank You
\n\n
To our users, maintainers, and contributors, thank you for your time, feedback, and trust.
\n\n
Special thanks to rve27 for GameSpace improvements and to AlisterGrey_666 and Saikrishna1504 for app icon integration (also implemented by rve27), as well as everyone who continues to test, report bugs, and suggest improvements.
\n\n
AxionOS is built in spare time, with care and intention. Lastly, we’re grateful to everyone walking this path with us.
\n\n— The AxionOS Team"

With v2.6, we are moving toward a fully modular UI. QS Waveform Overlays are now detached from the system and available as swappable components in the Theme Store ❤️ (ctto: Saikrishna1504).
\n\n
But we didn't stop at waveforms. We've expanded the modular system to include UDFPS Icons and Themes, allowing you to personalize your fingerprint scanner visuals like never before. If you've built something cool, the AxThemeStore repository is now open for your PRs.
\n\n
\n \n \n
\n\n
Feel the Flow: AxAnimationEngine
\n\n
Smoothness is as much about physics as it is about frame rates. This release marks the partial introduction of the AxAnimationEngine, bringing fluid, Material Expressive slide animations to activities and a redesigned lockscreen-to-workspace transition that makes every interaction feel more natural.
\n\n
AxBurstEngine v2.0: Pure Velocity
\n\n
We've overhauled our performance framework to be smarter and more hardware-aware. We're introducing the Sandbox \"Vault\" (ctto: Saikrishna1504)\n—a new encrypted storage space within the Sandbox environment. You can now hide and protect your most sensitive files with industry-standard encryption, accessible only within the Sandbox app.
\n\n
\n \n \n
\n\n
Combined with refined spoofing logic and fixes for `/data/adb` exposure, Quasis is our most secure and stealthy release to date.
\n\n
Refined Across the Board
\n\n
Every corner of AxionOS has been polished to ensure \"Quasis\" is our most stable and cohesive release yet.
\n\n
System UI & Media
\n
\n
Dynamic Bar & Status Bar: We've overhauled the Dynamic Bar with a fresh new lockscreen media layout and removed redundant notification event overrides. The pipeline is now connected to the default status bar chip—meaning call chips show the AOSP UI and recording uses the default system interface.
\n
New QS Tiles: Toggle your Routines and DNS settings instantly with new, dedicated Quick Settings tiles.
\n
AxionFx Audio Engine: Updated to support the latest hardware, including fixes for newer audio AIDL on devices like the Pixel 8, 9, and 10 series (ct: Corazon404).
\n
\n\n
Workflow & Productivity
\n\n
\n
AxPcMode: Desktop mode is better than ever with significant layout fixes and UI improvements.
\n
Pulse Launcher: Improved profile handling for Work and Private spaces, alongside new smart drawer organizational tools.
\n
Gamespace: A complete UI/UX overhaul for a more immersive experience.
\n
Edgelauncher: Added a default launch mode setting (ct: Saikrishna1504) and various responsiveness fixes.
\n
Routines: Expanded automation capabilities with new HTTP/Internet Routines.
\n
\n\n
System Stability
\n\n
\n
Power Management: Deep doze optimizations and stability fixes (ct: bijoyv9).
\n
SoC Optimization: Targeted performance fixes for mid-range chipsets like the MTK Dimensity 7200 Pro.
\n
Bug Squashing: Resolved lags in Unity-based games and addressed long-standing issues in the App Lock and Keybox modules.
\n
\n\n
A Journey Beyond the Code
\n\n
AxionOS 2.6 \"Quasis\" represents our most refined effort yet to bridge the gap between deep hardware optimization and expressive personalization. We are excited to see how you make this version your own.
\n\n
As we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible, let's all once again thank our lead dev rmp22. His tireless work and vision are what truly drive AxionOS forward, and we couldn't be more grateful for his leadership.
\n\n— The AxionOS Team"
